The instructions for today’s project refer to it as a nursery basket but I think it can work for just general storage purposes as well. I think fabric storage boxes are a great way to keep things out of the way and at the same time help add a little pop to the room. This tutorial shows you how you can make your very own version of it, which is great since I can never find ones in the bright colours I want. You will need:
Fabric for outer box covering (Fabric A) – ½ yard of 45″ wide fabric PER BOX
Fabric for inside lining (Fabric B) – ¼ yard of 45″ wide fabric PER BOX
Scraps for binding – two strips per box, each strip is 1¾” x WOF (width of fabric)
Heavy weight cardstock (ex. cardboard, chipoard)
All purpose thread
Leather machine needle plus regular needle.
Scissors or rotary cutter and cutting mat
Iron and ironing board
